Hunting Licenses

Getting Licensed to Hunt in Hawaiʻi is Easy

Responsible hunting, licensing, tagging, and permitting allows Hawaiʻi to protect its precious environment so future generations may continuously enjoy this pastime.

Hawaiʻi Hunting licenses are available online! Your license will be instantly issued after you successfully complete the purchase process.

In addition to Hunter Education Certifications, hunters must:

  • Apply for a new Hunting License every year. Licenses purchased are valid from the date of purchase through the corresponding Fiscal Year (Date of purchase – June 30, 20XX)
  • A valid Hawaiʻi hunting license is required for hunting on all private and public lands. The resident and non-resident licenses can be purchased here. A license costs $10 for residents and $95 for non-residents. All Hawaiʻi hunting licenses are automatically equipped with a Wildlife Conservation Stamp for game mammal hunting. A game bird stamp is required for all hunters that intend to hunt game birds during the established season. This stamp can be purchased with your annual hunting license. *ALL SALES FINAL – NO REFUNDS
  • Specific hunts require additional tags or permits. Please review hunting regulations and or visit our Tags and Permits Portal for more information.

Please note, the Division of Forestry & Wildlife (DOFAW) may modify or cancel a hunting season in a particular area to adjust for changes in weather conditions or animal populations.
